WHY ATTEND?
Since 2000, TEPHINET’s Scientific Conferences have provided participants with cutting-edge information on global disease detection, prevention, and response activities conducted by our network of 90+ field epidemiology training programs (FETPs) across more than 150 countries and territories. The 22,000+ FETP graduates in our global network play a critical role in increasing global health security by fortifying their country’s capacity to detect and respond to disease outbreaks and other public health threats.
Our Scientific Conferences serve as the premier global venue for FETP trainees and graduates, the “boots on the ground” in the fight against diseases, to share their work with international public health experts. Our participants are passionate, “disease detectives” at the forefront of strengthening public health systems in their countries. Conference attendees include FETP trainees, graduates, mentors, staff, and resident advisors, and other public health professionals working as epidemiologists, veterinarians, physicians, nurses, laboratory scientists and technicians, environmental scientists, and more.
The opportunity for FETP fellows and graduates to present their work, learn from global experts in the field, and build a network of peers is invaluable in nurturing future leaders, increasing global health collaboration, and building the capacity of public health systems and health surveillance in all countries.
The event theme is “Field Epidemiology in a Changing World: Innovations in Strengthening Surveillance Across Borders.”

A FIRST TIME PARTNERSHIP
For the first time, the 12th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference will combine the traditional TEPHINET Scientific Conference and the Global Field Epidemiology Partnership (GFEP) Forum. This event represents an adaptive evolution of the traditional TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference for FETPs who are trained to respond to the current global health context while convening GFEP partners to strategize, coordinate, align, and strengthen field epidemiology capabilities.
The formation of GFEP in October 2023 revealed the need for broader participation by key stakeholders and for topics that support FETP. Recognizing this need, the conference brings together the technical and strategic arms necessary to achieve the goals of field epidemiology capacity development.
The TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference and GFEP Forum will have their own dedicated track. The agenda for both portions of the program is currently under development. Please stay tuned for further details and session information.

TEPHINET is delighted to partner with our co-host, the Türkiye Field Epidemiology Training Program, under the General Directorate of Public Health, Ministry of Health of Türkiye, through the European Union-funded WHO Health Security in Türkiye Project. The Türkiye FETP was established in 2012 and earned TEPHINET accreditation for its Advanced-tier program in 2023.
